Hello everyone,
I've not been as active on here as I once was, although I am still at least posting the occasional poem. The truth is most of my poetry and energy has been going to my latest project, which I have been working on for a while but which has become basically the sole focus of my artistic energies lately. That piece is ::HORIZONS::.
I once said that like a new album coming out, the ::HORIZONS:: era ushered in a time of a different voice in my poetry, a new 'sound'. It does, and it did. I call a lot of my stuff 'glitch' or at least 'glitchy', and that's what the upcoming collection aims to be. A glitch collection, or at least a strange one. It will be miles away from my last collection (which btw you can still get for free on goodreads, or if you prefer you can buy a special print edition (I also do signed copies at request))
There is still some time before ::HORIZONS:: will see publication. I think I want to do something kinda cool about it given the conceptual nature of the book and the 'story' I'm telling in it.
What I'm saying is: I'm alive. I'm working. And I hope you're excited to get a look at a large collection of previously unreleased and unread poetry.
Finally, if you haven't seen it, here is the current version of the cover art: (It's gone through like 400 different revisions)
peace and love everybody,

Adios, Adieu, Goodbye
Hey all, It's been a while, and I've decided to remove much of my gallery here and 'retire' my dA account. I'm planning on leaving only a token number of my poems behind as something of a memorial, I suppose. For a lot of years dA was my Place. It was where I spent much of my time, and I put a lot of work into becoming a part of the community. Ever since they updated the website with 'Eclipse' I kind of stepped away, but now I've decided that I'm not coming back. I met a lot of friends here, most of whom are now gone while I stayed, something like Ozymandius' statue sticking out of the sand while the world around him was buried in the sand. My short piece: the new version of the website is bad for writers/writing, and staff clearly doesn't value the lit community here. I'm not happy with the direction it's gone. That's it. Nothing dramatic. If there's anyone watching me still around to care, Adios, Adieu, Goodbye. I'm around on other corners of the internet. =creativelycliche
The History Guy Podcast
Hello all, my silence on dA has not been entirely in vain. I've ramped up working for The History Guy, and last Friday we released our first podcast, hosted by me. At least at first our concept is to repackage episodes of the youtube channel and add new content. Our RSS feed is: https://feeds.captivate.fm/thehistoryguy/ Clicking on that link should get you to a player where you can listen to the first episode, about two aviation accidents: The story of a pilot who survived falling out of an SR-71 blackbird when it disintegrated, and the story of an experimental plane that crashed during a photo op for General Electric. We SHOULD be available just about anywhere you can find podcasts, including Apple, Spotify, and google. We'll be posting these every two weeks on Fridays in addition to our regularly scheduled youtube episodes. Great if you like history - we do stuff from every corner of history from the History of Potatoes to the Cold War to Alexander the Great... basically if
Update
Hello everybody, it's creativelycliche, your friendly admin. I know it has been a long time since we gave an update. My fellow admins have largely left the site, so it's just me running the place from my ivory tower. I am currently working two jobs as well, and dealing with a number of other crises both due to COVID-19 and other, unrelated events. Eclipse does not seem to offer a way to notify me when group submissions come in, so I have to manually check and I'll admit that I struggle to do that everyday. While I have not submitted any feature journals lately, I still look at everything coming through the group. I will consider doing some other things that can maybe encourage sharing/commenting within the group on each other's art work - after all, as sci-fi fans, I think most of us are happy to talk about our own work, the work that inspires us, and the works of others. I had a conversation with some folks elsewhere about, for instance, this video judging the relative advantages
The Guy Who Thought We Should Wash Our Hands
In 1846, a Hungarian doctor in Vienna figured out that he could save lives by washing his hands. Instead of listening to him, many doctors scoffed at him and refused to implement his advice. Ignaz Semmelweis is history that deserves to be remembered.
